Art teaches us to see. So what did I see today?

Emily Payne: Forecast (2011) clay, waxed linen, gouache on paper, 9" x 9"

Art teaches us to see so what did I see today?
A white car painted like a Mondrian painting.
California lilac - deep violet.
A workman in a heavy blue shirt with yellow rubber hose around his neck, a wonderous necklace - like a Bill Cunningham fashion moment.
Sky with patches of blue trees moving briskly in several directions (is that possible) like Keith Jarrett at the piano in unusual configuration of body poses.
Arms like wings but in space.
And the yellow bowl on my desk - my trusty bowl that says there is beauty in simplicity.
And the paintings in the gallery having quiet conversations with each other.
I am missing the ones that have sold and moved to people's homes to remind those folks that beauty is truth (and beauty has many faces).

Practice seeing:
when was the last time you noticed the familiar around you?
